LYNNE HAS PERFORMED …

in musical theatre, opera, nightclubs and concert halls across the U.S., from Seattle Light Opera to Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe, from Birdland in NYC to Chicago’s Davenports Cabaret, Crooner’s in Minneapolis and Sharp 9 Jazz in Durham, NC.  Currently, Lynne is working as a solo concert artist, crafting shows around the music of particular artists and composers - or creating one-of-a-kind concert experiences for all audiences in her “Short Stories” series.

A sassy, high energy redhead with great dramatic gifts and a voice that can bowl you over or gently lay your head upon her breast. . . Rothrock is the spiritual kin of Liza Minnelli, Bette Midler and Sarah Vaughan.

“Lynne Rothrock’s performances tune your ears into committed and enraptured listening that will have you talking about one number after another on your way home. You lean in to make sure you hear every word of what comes next - and what does come next is wonderfully unpredictable. Her magnetic sets unwrap a reservoir of polished rare gems of musical narratives. You can’t successfully tag her into one musical style, as there could be jazz, blues, folk, pop, musical theatre, comedy - all in surprise after surprise. There are giggles galore between tunes. There’s a tear in a lyric and a memory that hits home. There’s truly an earned wisdom on display in the musical chapters she chooses to open, and you want to bookmark every page. “Short Stories” could not be a more accurate moniker. Truth. Laughter. Emotions. Secrets. An unexpected ending. Be forewarned that you may be meeting your new best friend. She’s on stage, and her name is Lynne Rothrock.”

CRITICS ARE SAYING …

“Lynne Rothrock’s performance at the Bluebird Café was a rich experience. She is one of the most compelling and entertaining artists we have ever had. It was stellar and people are STILL raving about it!”

- Ronda Wynn, Chick Singer Night Nashville

“I’d never seen Rothrock perform - what a treat to finally see for myself what all the fuss is about. Rothrock, who spent 20 years honing her cabaret chops in Nashville, Cape Cod, Chicago and Minneapolis, channels her inner best Bette Midler to toss out sassy, off-the-cuff zingers between songs. Her banter is bold and brassy, but her singing always is classy. This is the quality of show that would bring down the house in whatever city it played.”

- Diana Nollen, Arts & Entertainment Editor, Eastern Iowa Life

Rothrock offers her audience an intimate glimpse into her humorous life and remarkable vocal talents. The songs seem to resonate very deeply within her. she has the goods and she proves it again and again.
— Cedar Rapids Gazette

“Lynne Rothrock is a real pro, on and off the stage, and has the uncanny ability to quick-connect with an audience from her very first note. With a musical style that is wide-ranging, from jazz to blues to gospel to pop and often to down-right sexy, Lynne has a special talent for choosing music that well suits her strengths as story-teller and consummate vocalist, resulting in a musical evening of great variety and sharp focus. To top it all off, Lynne Rothrock is fun to work with, and I look forward to my next opportunity to do just that.”

- Craig C. Campbell, Campbell Steele Gallery, Marion, IA

“Maybe it’s the fiery red hair, the totally sassy delivery or the hilarious lyrics of dating desperation - including hungering for bald guys - but Lynne Rothrock has a way of making you wish she was your best girlfriend. With charm and vocals that a Nashville critic compared to Bette Midler, Rothrock swoons over Mr. Right Now (instead of Mr. Right) and pays homage to the best babysitter ever. For dessert, she dishes up sweet classics, like “Someone to Watch Over Me.”
